Accessibility

AMOpen is committed to meet the requirements of the Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2001 (ODA) and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA). The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 ("the AODA") is a Provincial Act with the purpose of developing, implementing and mandating accessibility standards in order to achieve accessibility for persons with disabilities, with respect to goods, services, facilities, accommodation, employment, buildings, structures and premises.

AMOpen strives to ensure that the portal meets the AODA information and communications standards. Though the website is maintained and managed for compliance, due to the nature of the data sets and their associated downloads and visualizations, the visualizations may not be accessible.

The Portal pages are designed to be as accessible as possible for visually impaired or blind visitors using screen reading software.

Where compliance is not technically possible or may require extraordinary measures due to the nature of the information and the intent of the Portal, a request for exception must be made in writing to the Accessibility Officer. Such requests must be based on issues other than cost alone. In those circumstances, please contact AMOpen by emailing us at webmaster@amo.on.ca.
